Here at Ballina Naval and Maritime Museum we are always striving to provide great experiences for our visitors. We are always stiving to add to our collection and improve our building and galleries. As volunteer organisation we rely on the generosity of the public to fund our programs.
HOW YOU CAN HELP
VOLUNTEER WITH US
Volunteering at the museum is a great way to meet people from the local area as well as guests from further afield.
We call our volunteers ‘WATCH KEEPERS’. One of their key roles is to greet our guests on entry and make them welcome to the museum. You often find that visitors like to have a chat about their experiences or relatives that have a nautical connection.
As a volunteer you will be asked to become a member of the organisation at a very small cost, you can them also participate in meetings and other activities with us
We operate two watches per day.
FORENOON – 9:00am till 12:30pm. AFTERNOON -12:30 pm till 4:00pm. We are open 7 days per week with the exception of, Good Friday; Christmas Day; and ANZAC Day (am).
You will be teamed with an ‘old hand’ while you learn the ropes.
Why not call into the museum or give us a call to find out a little more about being a volunteer.
MAKE A DONATION
We always welcome donations to the museum. All funds received are committed to improving our collection and visitor experiences.
We like to thank our generous donors.
Donations of $50 or more will receive an unlimited family pass (2 adults and 3 children) to the museum valid for 12 months.
Donations of $100 or more will receive the family pass and a wall plaque to celebrate their generosity.
MAJOR PROJECTS
At present we are developing plans to extend the museum building to enclose the PV RICHMOND – a pilot vessel now listed on the Australian Register. While we have set aside funds for a number of years to help finance this project we still need to raise more to see the projected completed.
